Types Of Therapy
ATTACHMENT THEORY
This treatment style focuses on the relationships that the client has had throughout their lifetime, starting with the parent/caretaker-child relationship.
During childhood and adolescence we begin to develop our identity, self-esteem, worth and ideas of vulnerability, etc., from our experiences and specifically, our relationships with important people in our lives.
In utilizing this therapy we identify how unhealthy relationship patterns, maladaptive behaviors and mental health struggles can be improved through exploring our attachment wounds.

COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT)
Within this therapy the client’s unhealthy thoughts and behaviors are identified, challenged and replaced with healthier processes to improve mental health and overall functioning.

REALITY THERAPY
Taking responsibility for one’s actions and focusing on the here and now are utilized for this therapy. The client’s goals, ideas of right and wrong, and their behaviors are the focus of therapy. The client has the ability to decide what they really want in life and how they are going to go about obtaining these goals.
I utilize this theory mainly with adolescent clients to assist them in navigating difficult decisions in their lives.
